Holistic support: Why it matters to recruitment, retention

A new report has underscored the importance of offering holistic support as a way to attract and retain talent.

Reward Gateway's report said practical, holistic support for health and wellness is now a "top priority for employees."

"Employees are asking for more. Employers need to be the ones to make the decision on when and how they can give that to them, or risk losing their top talent that helped them thrive during tougher times," the report reads.

"To stay ahead, employers need to think creatively about how to use their budgets effectively and enhance the financial, physical, and emotional support they offer their people."

The advice comes amid news that employee departure remains strong - with findings from PwC revealing that more are considering switching jobs now than they did two years ago.

In addition to offering holistic support, Reward Gateway's report also suggested the following steps to recruit and retain talent:

  1. Redefine the employee/employer relationship
  2. Embrace workplace flexibility
  3. Foster a sense of belonging

Flexibility, a sense of belonging, and support are the three biggest demands of employees that could also potentially hold the keys to reduce attrition in the workplace.

"To stay competitive, business leaders have to look at their Employee Value Proposition and think about how it stacks up to the demands and expectations of today's employees," the report read.

Find out more about these steps and how they can be implemented at work in this report from Reward Gateway.
