Attracting and retaining skilled staff ranks highest on executive agendas for 2005, according to a global study released by Accenture. Interviews with 425 senior executives across North America, Europe and Asia found 35 per cent said attracting and retaining skilled staff was a top priority, followed by changing organisational cultural and employee attitudes (33 per cent), improving workforce performance (28 per cent) and developing employees into capable leaders (26 per cent). Acquiring new customers (32 per cent) and increasing customer loyalty and retention (29 per cent) were the top customer-retention issues.
Chandler Macleod signs Job Network deal
The Federal Government will employ HR and recruitment consulting firm Chandler Macleod’s online psychometric test across its Job Network system. Due to launch in October, more than half a million job seekers could use Chandler Macleod’s Employability Skills Profiler (ESP) in a bid to help them find work. The online test assess job seekers’ psychological profile and helps match them to suitable jobs and relevant training. Chandler Macleod has been working on the technology for the last three years and won the Federal Department of Employment and Workplace Relations contract last year ahead of several IT and other firms.
