HRM Guide is an independent, internet-based organisation dedicated to the provision of human resources and work-related information. It utilises a network of websites, with worldwide contributors, content partners and affiliated companies.
While based in the US, HRM Guides also exist for Australia, Canada and the UK. These sites provide a reasonable amount of information with local news sections and the majority of content (especially in-depth features) sourced from the original US site. However, a major strength of the guide is that all the content is free, with similar websites requiring passwords or paid memberships.
The most useful HRM Guide resource for Australian HR professionals is undoubtedly the HR topics page, with well-researched and insightful features on topics such as: human resource management; culture and commitment; resource plans and strategies; recruitment and selection; managing diversity; performance management and employee relations.
Navigation through the HR topics is a fairly simple matter, but overall navigation is confusing and overly-complex, with links strewn about the front page of each site. Design is basic and practical, but uninspiring.
