This year’s Australian HR Awards were held on Friday night – what was it like, and who took away the big awards?
Held at Sydney’s Westin Hotel, 2013’s Australian HR Awards proved to be the biggest yet, with a packed house of industry professionals and heavy-hitters celebrating the unwavering expertise and continual progression of the HR industry.
MCing the night was Australia’s number one entertainment personality, Richard Wilkins, and entertainment was provided by Rhythm Brazil and musical group Everyday People.
The night was a roaring success, with HR practitioners from around Australia celebrating together and being acknowledged for their hard work and dedication to HR best practice.
So, who won? The high calibre of nominees meant the judges had a tough task separating the good from the great – yet ultimately there could be only one winner in each category. The winners for this year’s HR Awards include:

2013 HR Hall of Fame: Rhonda Brighton-Hall, Commonwealth Bank of Australia
Australian HR Team of the Year: Paul Landy, QSuper
Employer of Choice (<1000): Joris Luijke, Atlassian
Employer of Choice (>1000): Amber Hall, Coca-Cola Amatil
Employer of Choice (Public sector & NFP): Peter Gesling, Port Stephens Council
