Less than half think they can rely on manager to help them: survey
The fast pace of changes in workplaces across Australia is triggering a "crisis of confidence" among professionals, according to a new poll from LinkedIn.
The poll, which surveyed 2,142 Australian professionals, found that 67% feel overwhelmed by the rapid pace of workplace change.
It has left 47% of workers worried about being left behind in their career, with 40% unsure of how to cope with how quickly their job is changing.
"With constant changes in the workplace, such as how to use AI tools and adapting to hybrid work models, it's no surprise that many professionals feel overwhelmed and worried about being left behind," said Cayla Dengate, LinkedIn Career Expert, in a statement.

As a result, 63% of Australians are now searching for more guidance and support than ever before, according to the report.
However, only 46% believe they can rely on their manager to help them navigate periods of change in their job, with only 46% under the impression that their organisation's leadership is helping them keep pace with changes.
In addition, 58% of professionals are aware that experience alone is no longer enough to help them with the changing workplace, as 38% state that continuous learning will be critical to stay ahead.
"It will be important for workers to stay informed, upskill, and continuously learn. Taking these small steps will help workers build the confidence needed to thrive in this evolving environment," Dengate said. "Try to embrace change with an open mind, be adaptable, and take charge of your career development."
