Coles CHRO appointed inaugural president of Chief HR Australia

Chief HR Australia (CHRA) has appointed Kris Webb, Chief Human Resources Officer at Coles Group, as its inaugural president.

The newly established organisation, representing chief human resources officers (CHROs) across Australia, made the announcement on Monday.

Webb brings over 30 years of experience to the role, including leadership of one of Australia's largest companies, Coles Group, which employs over 115,000 people.

According to Webb's LinkedIn profile, she is also currently an SAP CHRO Advisory Board member, and previously served in key HR roles in GSK, ViiV Healthcare, PwC, among others.

"I'm honoured to be part of Chief HR Australia's mission to strengthen and elevate the HR community," Webb said in a statement. "Together, we have the opportunity to further position HR as a strategic partner and give leaders the tools and support they need to build future-ready workplaces."

CHRA, which launched earlier this year, aims to amplify the influence and role of CHROs in Corporate Australia. The organisation provides a platform for HR leaders to collaborate, share insights, and drive change.

Janelle Leonard, CEO of CHRA, expressed her enthusiasm for Webb's appointment.

"We are incredibly pleased to have Kris Webb join us as president. Her experience, leadership, and commitment to advancing the HR profession at the most senior level aligns perfectly with our vision for CHRA," she said.

"We look forward to announcing some of our exciting plans for 2025."
