Has your team recently delivered a great marketing strategy? Then nominate it for the 2014 Australian HR Awards, recognising excellence in the HR profession.
Has your team recently delivered a unique, compelling and relevant marketing strategy? Then this could be your time to shine at this year’s Australian HR Awards.
For the first time, there is a category for Best HR Marketing and Communication Strategy. The strategy in question may relate to things including a HR initiative, roll out of a new program, internal communication and employer branding.
Joydeep Hor, managing principal at People+Culture Strategies, will return for his second year as a judge for the HR Awards and gave HC Online his thoughts on what would impress him in the marketing and communications category.
“For me, it will be very much around how the nominees, through their application, can really show that they've made the branding of HR relevant, approachable and understandable within their organisation. I think that's going to be a critical issue.
“One of the things I see a lot is that there seems to be a lot of mystery around what HR does in some quarters. Organisations have a challenge in demystifying that. I think it should be more than just trying to justify their existence, but trying to introduce a better level of awareness and understanding across their organisation of what it is that HR does. The building of that HR internal brand is very important,” he said.
Being able to convert their initiatives into results would also stand the nominees in good stead, said Hor.
The awards give a huge boost to the heads of HR and their teams in the winning organisations, he added.
“I also think it's very good for senior leadership to see that their HR functions are being recognised in this way.”
