So says Dr. Mansoor Soomro, future of work researcher, speaker and lecturer at Teesside University in England, in talking with HRDTV about leadership in the time of artificial intelligence (AI).

He explains that AI can handle routine tasks. And humans who excel at creative thinking and innovation often take the lead.
One question that leaders need to answer, he says, is: “How do we encourage our team to think outside the box, solve complex problems and generate new ideas?”
Soomro stressed that employers need to continue to focus on employee wellbeing, personal development, and diversity and inclusion when integrating AI.
“How do we understand the capabilities and limitations of different AI generative tools that we see? AI is also constantly evolving – how do we enable our employees to adapt with it?”
