Which age group is most satisfied?
Just over 6 in 10 workers (61.3%) are satisfied with their jobs, according to a report from Statistics Canada (StatCan).
The report defines those who are satisfied with their work as those who give a score of 8, 9 or 10 on a scale of 10.
The number is nearly unchanged from data collected in October 2023, according to StatCan.
In January, StataCan reported that 80% of workers rated their level of satisfaction from 7 to 10, with 7.7 out of 10 being the average level of satisfaction.
Youth aged 15 to 24 are the least likely to be very satisfied with their job (55.3%) this year, while workers aged 55 to 69 are the most likely to be very satisfied (68.1%), according to the government agency’s survey October 2024 Labour Force Survey.
Overall, just about 6 in 10 workers in both the public (60.2%) and private (60.1% sectors are highly satisfied with their work.
However, that number is lower when compared with those who have the same claim among self-employed workers (70.0%).
