Bonus for 22,000 comes after strong performance for luxury brand in 2023
Luxury goods firm Hermès has announced that it is granting its employees worldwide a €4,000 bonus following strong performance in the last quarter of 2023.
"True to its commitment as a responsible employer, and its policy of sharing the fruits of growth with all those who contribute to it on a daily basis, Hermès will pay at the beginning of the year a bonus of €4,000 to all its employees worldwide in respect of 2023," the company said in a statement.
The company has a total of 22,040 employees, including 13,700 in France, after expanding its workforce by around 2,400 people, according to the statement, which was released last February.
The bonus comes after the company's sales went up €3,364 million in the fourth quarter of 2023, and consolidated revenue hit €13,427 million in 2023.
"In 2023, Hermès has once again cultivated its singularity and achieved an outstanding performance in all métiers and across all regions against a high base," said Axel Dumas, executive chairman of Hermès, in the statement.
"These solid results reflect the strong desirability of our collections and the commitment and talent of the house's women and men. I thank them all warmly."
This is not the first time that major brands are rewarding employees with bonuses following profitable years for their organisations.
Last year, Mercedes-Benz granted staff a record bonus of €7,300 following strong performance from the company.
In 2021, Lego also extended a bonus as well as additional days off for employees after scoring a huge first half in that year.
