The finance giant has named its latest addition to the HR team, taking talent from competitor Sun Life.
Canadian finance firm Manulife has confirmed its latest head of human resources, naming industry veteran Christine Robinson as its newest recruit.
Robinson, who joins the company following a five-year stint at competitor Sun Life, succeeds former HR head Lisa Butler, who recently took on a new role as the global chief talent & diversity officer for Manulife.
Based in Waterloo – where the company has its Canadian Headquarters – Robinson will report to CEO Marianne Harrison and EVP of HR Stephani Kingsmill.
Manulife confirmed Robinson will lead the Canadian division human resources team and will join the global HR leadership team, global leadership team and the Canadian division executive management team.
Prior to her experience at Sun Life, where she was responsible for talent development and creating the enterprise-wide learning and leadership strategy, Robinson worked at Blackberry in talent management and learning. She also spent eight years in HR consulting with Right Management, Knightsbridge and in private practice.
She has a Master of Education in Adult Education and Counselling from University of Toronto (specialization in Workplace Learning and Change), a post graduate diploma in Human Resources Management from Humber College and a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University.
