Formal attire for prestigious HR awards

On September 18, 2024, the red carpet will be rolled out for attendees – and hopeful winners – at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Hosted by Big Brother’s Arisa Cox, the event’s dress code is formal so be sure to dress accordingly – especially if you plan on taking the stage as a winner!

Cox has also covered The Grammys, The Oscars, the Sundance and Cannes film festivals, and Survivor for ET Canada in Fiji and LA. She’s also hosted live events including the Canadian Screen Awards Gala, the Banff World Media Festival, Directors’ Guild of Canada Awards, and many charity events. In 2022, Cox won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Host, Live Entertainment Special, for co-hosting TVO’s televised New Year’s Eve special, From Ontario with Live: A Celebration of Hope, alongside Andrew Phung.

Sponsors for the 2024 Canadian HR Awards include: ADP, the University of Waterloo, Centurion Asset Management, Queen’s University IRC, O.C. Tanner and Payworks.

Winners celebrate HR awards

Last year, hundreds were in attendance at the 10th annual Canadian HR Awards, celebrating excellence in the profession.

These included Chartered Professional in Human Resources – British Columbia and Yukon (CPHR BC & Yukon), which won in the category of Best Service Provider.

The association was “beyond honoured,” said Kara Douglas, director of marketing, communications and member affairs, citing the organization’s drive to be “the voice of the profession” and a membership of 8,000.

“We just want to do what we can to support our members through advocacy and professional development and learning.”

CPHR BC & Yukon is also “humbled” to be nominated in the best service provider category, said Sue Ryan, chair of CPHR Canada. “We don’t think of ourselves as providing a service, but we do support our members in everything they do, so it’s a fantastic honour,” she said. “[It’s about] raising the bar of the profession, so we spend a lot of our time trying to raise the importance of HR in workplaces, and I think that message is coming through.”

Be sure to nominate outstanding HR professionals, teams and employers here – before it’s too late.
