A total of 50 people have been arrested so far, according to authorities
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan described as "horrific" the death of a Sri Lankan manager who was working in the country's province of Sialkot, who was killed at the hands of factory employees. The manager was accused of blasphemy for tearing down a poster with Islamic holy verses, Reuters reported, which led to a mob of factory employees attacking, torturing, and burning alive of the Sri Lankan national. Khan said on Twitter that the attack was a "day of shame for Pakistan," adding that he will be in charge of the investigations.

According to Khan, he already spoke to Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to "convey our nation's anger and shame to people of Sri Lanka" over the killing.
"I informed him 100+ ppl arrested & assured him they would be prosecuted with full severity of the law," he said on a tweet. Khan also said that a man named Malik Adnan will be awarded for his bravery by trying to physically protect the Sri Lankan victim from the vigilante mob.
"We will award him Tamgha i Shujaat," Khan said in a tweet on Sunday. Reuters reported that mob killings due to allegations of blasphemy have been "frequent" in Pakistan.
