CHRA 2024 gala event celebrates Canada's top HR leaders
Last night the Canadian Human Resources Awards 2024 celebrated the outstanding achievements of HR professionals and organizations across the country at a gala event held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
The prestigious awards, hosted by Big Brother Canada presenter and producer Arisa Cox, recognized the contributions of Canadian HR teams in driving business success and fostering a dynamic workplace culture.
One of the evening’s standout winners was Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA), taking home the coveted award for Canadian HR Team of the Year (Fewer than 500 Employees).
“I think HR is challenging work, and this team brings it every day,” said Sanita Alias, Vice-president of People, Culture and Brand at CIRA.
“They collaborate with each other. We support each other, we work through it all together, and we really believe in our mission of supporting and trusting Canadians and organizations.”
Another notable winner was Ramneet Aujla of Metrolinx, who was recognized as Canadian HR Leader of the Year. Aujla’s leadership in fostering innovative HR strategies and championing employee development has made a lasting impact on the organization.
Bayer Canada also shone in the category of Best Workplace Culture, setting a standard for cultivating a healthy and inclusive environment that encourages employee well-being and engagement.
“I personally deal with mental health, and I felt it was important to bring that forward to the organization, that they can see that we can have a conversation,” said Janine Pajot, VP of Human Resources for Bayer. “It’s important for me, it’s important for my team, it’s important for the organization.”
