These were the top global LGBTQ employers in 2018

Cities across the world recently celebrated Pride – a chance for people of all backgrounds, races, ages and sexual orientations to come together and support the LGBTQ community.

And, in the spirit of inclusivity, Stonewall, the lesbian, gay, bi and trans equality charity, just announced their much-anticipated list of Top Global Employers for 2018.

Celebrating the efforts of international organizations to promote and foster inclusive and diverse workplaces, Stonewall has made a name for itself by advancing all opportunities for LGBTQ employees.

Their annual list of Top Global Employers is used as a benchmark for businesses looking to reform their own offices and really do their bit to help the LGBTQ community.

“LGBT people face discrimination, violence and isolation in every country in the world,” explained Ruth Hunt, CEO of Stonewall.

“In more than 70 countries, consensual same-sex activity remains illegal, and the death penalty exists in eight. Only six countries allow trans people to self-determine their gender.”

In no particular order, the Top Global Employers for 2018 named by Stonewall are;

  • Accenture
  • Allen & Overy
  • Baker McKenzie
  • Barclays PLC
  • BP
  • Dentons
  • Herbert Smith Freehills LLP
  • Pinsent Masons
  • Royal Bank of Scotland
  • SAP
  • Simmons & Simmons
  • Vodafone Group Plc
  • Zurich Insurance Group

“At a time when global LGBT rights are under threat of going backwards, we’re proud to work alongside our Top Global Employers, who operate in some extremely difficult contexts, to ensure all people are protected and welcome at work, wherever they are,” added Hunt.
