International business law firm Torys has partnered with the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto to create a Business Leadership Certificate Program for associates in all Torys offices.
“At Torys, our people are our greatest asset, and we are always looking for creative ways to invest in their personal and professional development. To that end, we are thrilled to announce that we have collaborated with The Rotman School of Management,” Torys said in a statement. “We are very proud of this innovative initiative, being the first of its kind in Canada and available exclusively to Torys lawyers.”
The program will kick off in February 2015. It is comprised of four modules: strategy, negotiation, leadership and communication with the aims of helping associates successfully build their practices, enhance their leadership presence and drive innovation both within and outside the firm.
Formally established in 1950, the Rotman School of Management offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in commerce, finance and business administration. These include part-time, full-time and executive MBA programs as well as a doctoral program.
Torys has offices in Toronto, Calgary, Montreal and New York. Founded in 1941 by Toronto business lawyer John Stewart Donald Tory, its main areas of practice are corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and major litigation matters. Its other practice areas include taxation, health and safety, financial institutions, real estate and personal client services.
