A major shake-up has seen the exit of two C-suite execs – now the company is putting its confidence in its own HRD.
Target has named its HR director as the new chief of stores in a major shakeup that has already seen the sudden departure of two C-suite execs.
HRD Janna Potts was appointed for the role after 30-year Target veteran Tina Tyler was dismissed earlier this week. Tyler will stand down from her position on Friday.
The move had been flagged as yet another indication of the company’s major shake-up, initiated by chief executive Brian Cornell.
The CEO began his tenure in 2014 and has been steadily transforming the board since.
Other changes include the hiring of a new chief information officer and a new chief financial officer – the former PepsiCo exec also created the role of operating chief in charge of supply chain, merchandising and stores.
Target’s former CEO Gregg Steinhafel came under heavy criticism as the company suffered significant losses in multiple areas of business and became the victim of an expensive data breach.
In what was described as a loss of confidence in their leader, Target’s Board members removed Steinhafel in 2014.
