Jason Winkler, Managing Partner, Talent, Deloitte
Why HR? People are at the core of everything and certainly represent the most interesting and unpredictable challenges and opportunities anyone could ask for.
How would you sum up HR pros in three words? Business-minded. Practical. Balanced.
How would you change the industry? Shift the industry mindset from HR leaders to business leaders and create the next generation of CEOs who have their roots in the “people” dimension of business.
What’s the most important thing an HR pro can do to develop their business? Show how HR lever can help grow the business faster and more profitably than any other lever.
If you were Prime Minister for one day, what would you do? Bring the premiers together and launch a national wellness initiative focused on preventive health across all generations.
What has been the highlight of your career? Working with amazing professionals from around the world for 22 years at Deloitte.
What’s your favoured style of coffee? Americano misto.
Hockey, football, baseball or other? Tennis.
If you could invite three people to dinner, dead or alive, and excluding family and friends, who would they be and why? Thomas Jefferson…because he designed a system of government that’s still relevant today. Mother Teresa…because she found a way to bring hope to others. Joni Mitchell…because words in songs matter.
Complete this sentence: If I wasn’t in HR, I would be…helping build a Deloitte consulting practice anywhere in the world.
