Canadian HR leaders struggling with soft skills

A new LinkedIn survey shows hiring managers are having the most trouble when it comes to finding candidates with soft skills.

Finding the right recruit is rarely an easy task but, according to one new survey, it’s especially hard when employers are looking for soft skills.

LinkedIn’s newest research – the 2016 Soft Skills Report – indicates that 67 per cent of Canadian hiring managers struggle when it comes to finding candidates with the right soft skills compared with just 49 per cent for hard skills.

Notably, 61 per cent of Canadian managers also revealed that the lack of soft skills among candidates is limiting their company’s productivity.

To find out more about the ongoing soft skills shortage, HRM has launched an online poll to identify exactly which areas are most difficult to find in potential new recruits.

Compiling ten of the most desirable soft skills, HRM is asking readers to cast their vote on which one proves most challenging to pin down.
