Rewarding employee’s hard work is part and parcel of a good HR strategy
Rewarding employee’s hard work is part and parcel of a good HR strategy – but a great HR leader knows exactly how to recognize that effort.
A restaurant worker at a US-based Chick-fil-A was surprised at work, when company leaders arrived to present her with a $25,000 check to pay for her education.
Jacqueline Murphy was working in the drive-through section of the outlet when the restaurant operator drove up to present her with the scholarship fund. Speaking to Fox News, the reward was given as part of the company’s scholarship program called “Remarkable Futures.”
The scheme allows for $14.5 million to give to hard-working and deserved employees.
Speaking to the media afterwards, Murphy said: "You can say I'm blessed. I'm blessed by God, my family. From the prayers and support from my people."
"It's just insane. I love it."
Murphy plans to attend Wingate University's School of Pharmacy to follow her dreams of becoming a pharmacist.
Last week, HRD reported on a generous boss who paid for his employee’s daughter’s wedding, to reward 17 years of loyal service. Read more about the surprising tale here.
