Mercer appointed to develop Singapore’s HR skills framework
Global consulting leader Mercer was appointed last week by SkillsFuture Singapore to develop a national skills framework for Singapore’s human resources industry.
This framework is part of the nationwide Industry Transformation Programme, a collaborative effort to ensure Singapore’s continued role as a global economic leader, and will act as a guide for HR firms moving into the future.
According Mercer’s 2017 Global Talent Trends Study, more than 90% of C-Suite executives plan to redesign their organizations this year, but nearly half do not believe their HR team has access to actionable data for decision making. In the coming months, Mercer will be developing a national skills framework, technical skills and competencies reference documents, and a wage study for key job roles in HR.
Mercer has long been at the forefront of innovating the HR sector, incorporating latest practices and technologies to create new models for industry professionals to employ. Last month, the firm launched Mercer Digital, a platform for firms to incorporate data analytics, artificial intelligence, and similar tools to streamline work processes through more digitised systems.
The firm’s appointment follows the establishment of the Institute of Human Resources Professionals (IHRP), a tripartite undertaking aimed at professionalizing and strengthening the HR practice in Singapore. Mercer continues to be actively involved with the IHRP, with experts serving on the institute’s professional practice committee.
