It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas – sort of.

2020 has been a strange year, with many of use glad to see the end of it. Despite COVID-19 still raging through the world, many businesses are preparing themselves for a mass recruitment drive to help with the seasonal sales rush.

A recent report form FlexJobs has identified organizations looking to ramp up hiring this December. These jobs cover all roles from finance to HR, sales to remote customer service.

Speaking on the research, Sara Sutton, CEO of FlexJobs, revealed by the pandemic isn’t really hampering recruitment.

“Particularly right now, as people are still reeling from the negative impact COVID-19 has had on personal finances, seasonal jobs are an attractive option not only to help alleviate the pressure of the cash-strapped holiday season, but also help workers get back on their feet and potentially transition from seasonal work to full-time employment,” she explained.

“The good news for job seekers is that many factors are increasing the demand for seasonal workers, as well as driving up their wages in many cases.”

And it’s good news all round for the retail recruitment sector, as Walmart recently announced plans to hire 10,000 employees across Canada.
