'Unacceptable': Mobile Planet employee allegedly accesses customer's nude photos

Mobile Planet is going viral on TikTok after one of its casual employees was accused of sending a customer's nude photo to his phone.

In a TikTok video uploaded by user Krisy Erin, she claimed that her friend gave her phone to Mobile Planet to have her camera fixed. Upon getting it back, her friend found a failed AirDrop notification on her phone that indicated the employee might have tried to get a copy of her nude photos.

"Basically, this is a photo or a nude pic of hers that she had sent to her boyfriend years ago that was left on the phone, which means he scrolled all the way back through her gallery to find a nude photo of her, which is such an invasion of privacy and absolutely unacceptable behaviour," Erin explained on the video, which she took while her friend confronted the store.

The manager later tried to look for the photo on the employee's phone, according to Erin, who noted that the photo wasn't there.

"And then it ended with that employee fainting onto the ground, literally fainted," she narrated in the video.

According to Erin, they were later told by security to file a complaint to customer service.

Mobile Planet's response

Mobile Planet has cancelled the shifts of the casual employee involved while they carry out an internal investigation and refer the matter to the police, Stuff reported.

Its management also offered the customer their "sincerest apologies and support."

"We understand the gravity of the situation and are committed to upholding our responsibility to all parties involved," Mobile Planet's statement said as quoted by Stuff. "We are cooperating fully with the authorities and are dedicated to resolving this matter with the utmost seriousness and sensitivity."
