They add to the growing number of companies offering the policy
Youth publisher LADbible Group is rolling out a new abortion policy for its employees to support them and their well-being. The new policy grants employees up to 10 days of paid time off for an abortion procedure, according to its announcement.
In cases where the employee lives in an area where the procedure is banned, the company is will also be providing up to $10,000 of travel allowance so they can get access to healthcare in relation to abortion.
The new policy will cover all employees across LADbible Group, whether full-time, part-time permanent, and fixed term. They will also receive resources on abortion procedures that are available.
Sinead Allchurch, LADbible Group's HR Director, said that the efforts stem from the company's stance that employees have the right to make decisions in relation to their own bodies.
"It's important to us that all employees feel supported through situations which may be personally challenging and difficult," said Allchurch in a statement. "We believe that everyone has the right to make decisions in relation to their body, health and have access to comprehensive healthcare."
The initiative from LADbible Church adds to the growing number of companies that are rolling out their own abortion policies following the US Supreme Court overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade.
