One lesson from pandemic: most people genuinely missed the office
How much is human connection worth?
Whether in the office or remote, human connection has the biggest impact on the success of your business.
While employee desire to return to the office was low for many as we broke free of the shackles of COVID and reimagined the way we could be working, new data from Enboarder has revealed that employees are starting to feel the impact of the lack of genuine human connection over the last couple of years.
A free whitepaper published by HRD in partnership with Enboarder highlights the business value of human connections in the workplace and demonstrates how to facilitate an environment of connection to help your people truly flourish.

Prior to COVID, staff incentives focused on making the office an inviting place by adding gyms, pool tables, or free snacks. But all that became null and void when much of the workforce became hybrid or remote. As employees navigated and relaxed into hybrid life, the office quickly became “the place where the printer was” to a lot of employees.
New data suggests that the tide is turning. Enboarder’s survey of 1,000 full-time workers asked what the number-one benefit of being in the office was: only 5% cited the gym but a staggering 60% cited spontaneous interactions with co-workers.
A genuine sense of human connection is one of the biggest factors influencing a worker’s productivity, job satisfaction, and perceptions of the workplace. By putting human connections at the centre of your business, employers will enable connectivity, engagement, and growth.
