HR professionals now have easy access to the legislation of most relevance to them with the click of a mouse.
HR professionals can now access official legislation online via the New Zealand Legislation website.
Previously only printed legislation from the Parliamentary Counsel Office or the NZ Government was official. However hard copy forms dated quickly, could be expensive and difficult which prompted changes to be enacted under the Legislation Act 2012 to up-date and modernise the publication of legislation.
“This important development puts official up-to-date legislation in the hands of New Zealanders at no cost”, Attorney-General Christopher Finlayson stated. “They can be confident that they are accessing the authoritative source.”
The Employment Relations Act 2000, Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 and Holidays Act 2003 are all available via the website.
Details of which versions of legislation are official, and developments in printed legislation, are available at legislation.govt.nz/news.aspx.
