Air New Zealand’s new safety video goes viral

Air New Zealand is known for their quirky, witty, safety videos – and their latest offering does not disappoint, clocking up over 200,000 views in one day.

Aotearoa, the 8th Wonder of the World was made to encourage more tourists to travel domestically – taking in all the sights NZ has to offer – set to the backdrop of a workplace safety theme.

“Around 30% of people flying on our domestic network are usually visitors from overseas,” added Air New Zealand chief customer and sales officer Leanne Geraghty in an interview with Stuff.

“In the absence of international visitors, the safety video is a unique way to stimulate further local demand, benefiting local tourism operators, the New Zealand economy and Air New Zealand employees.”

The launch of the video signals a light at the ned of the tunnel for future business travel, as more companies look to relaunch operations in 2021.

The impact of COVID-19 on the business travel market was severe, with global flights terminated and colleagues forced to work from home.

However, with NZ recently being hailed at the most powerful passport in the world, it’s clear that corporate traveling will rise again soon enough.
