Gareth is the current Head of People, Training and Talent for McDonald’s Restaurants NZ Ltd - one of the biggest employers of youth in NZ. Prior to this he had many operations roles with last role being the National Operations Manager for the company. With his many years’ experience in operations, he knows only too well the requirements and demands of a dynamic workforce and the challenges this can bring. A key part of being a large employer of youth, is that for many employees this is their first-time job, this can be challenging but also ultra-rewarding. Gareth’s reasonability’s also include, heading payroll and he leads the McDonald’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), who for the last year, like many, have been focused on keeping employees and customers safe and the doors open across the 170 restaurants nationwide. Gareth has recently led a number of key transformation projects across both payroll, training and people systems.
