Singapore is emerging as a "global leader" in generative AI adoption as job postings on Indeed mentioning the technology saw a 5.9-fold increase.
The latest data from the hiring platform revealed that one in every 117 job postings in July mentioned GenAI, including terms like ChatGPT.
The nearly six-fold increase is much higher than the growth posted in other countries, such as Spain (4.8), Ireland (3.6), and Germany (4.4).

"Singapore is rapidly emerging as a global leader in GenAI adoption, outpacing many other markets in integrating this technology into the workplace," said Callam Pickering, APAC Senior Economist at Indeed, in a statement.
According to Indeed, the data analytics sector saw the highest share of job postings mentioning GenAI, with 9.7%. This is followed by the Medical Information and Architecture sectors, with 3.3% each.
Despite the growth in some sectors, Indeed noted that 38% of occupational sectors in Singapore have yet to post job ads mentioning AI.

Pickering said the nearly six-fold increase in job postings with GenAI mentions indicates Singapore's strong commitment to harnessing cutting-edge innovations.
"This swift adoption is a testament to Singapore's commitment to becoming a centre of excellence for AI while also shaping the future of work in a competitive global landscape," he added.
Overall, Singapore's job market is showing signs of recovery after a monthly increase of 1.6% in July, according to Indeed.
Job postings were 11.2% lower than a year ago, but 24% of sectors are more than double their pre-pandemic levels.
"Despite economic challenges, Singapore's labour market remains impressively resilient, with unemployment staying low at just two per cent," Pickering said.
The marketing sector posted a 49.8% increase in job postings since April 30, becoming one of the best-performing occupation groups in Singapore.

"Although competition for talent has eased slightly from last year, it remains significantly higher than pre-pandemic levels, leading to persistent skill and talent shortages," Pickering said.
"The impressive rise in GenAI adoption underscores Singapore's role as a frontrunner in the global effort to integrate AI into the workforce. As businesses continue to explore and implement AI-driven solutions, the demand for specialised talent is poised to grow even more."
