White paper shows how to reach today's active jobseekers

How to be visible promoting your employer brand

Refreshing a company's brand for a new generation of employees is one challenge, but effectively promoting it so people can see it is another.

A white paper from Indeed recently urged employers that they not only need to refresh their brand, but they also need to start considering how to reach today's jobseekers.

"If you're going to relaunch your brand, having a central hub where you can promote all of your developments will help you put forward a unified vision for your business," the paper stated.

Utilising social media and blog sites to promote employer branding has always been the norm for many organisations, according to Indeed's paper.

While they may be the most accessible and easy to rely on, the paper pointed out that it will only likely reach those already familiar with the brand and those not actively looking for work.

"If you're hoping to reach a new audience of active jobseekers, then claiming your company pages on Indeed and Glassdoor can instantly provide you with unparalleled new reach," the paper read.

Company pages offer businesses a single place where they can promote their culture, highlight their success, and share stories about their employees. It will also provide employers the platform to showcase their hiring experience and tell candidates what to expect, according to the paper.

"A clear-cut process will not only attract more candidates to your roles but limit the chances of applicants growing disgruntled with their progress," the paper read.

Focus of employer brand promotion

According to Indeed, promoting a company's brand will need a "balanced approach" between sharing the experiences of individuals and the organisation.

"On top of the reviews on your company page, you can share video testimonials from employees discussing their day-to-day, or messages from your CIO detailing your organisation's goals and principles," the paper read.

"Through your page, you can create a fully fleshed-out image of life at your organisation, allowing candidates to see how they'll fit into your culture."

But before promoting a brand, employers first need to figure out how to refresh their branding for today's jobseekers. Read more about that topic in this white paper.
