Full-time work for polytechnic graduates declines in 2024: report

The percentage of polytechnic graduates in employment declined, while their median gross monthly salary saw a slight increase in 2024, according to new data.

The 2024 Polytechnic Graduate Employment Survey (GES) revealed that 87.5% of polytechnic graduates got employed within six months of graduation (85.6%) or after completing full-time National Service (91.4%).

For post-National Service (NS) graduates, 65.2% were in full-time roles, 17.8% were in part-time jobs, while 8.6% were unemployed in the same period, according to the report.

Median gross payments up

Despite the drop in employed polytechnic graduates, the GES found that their median gross monthly salary reached $2,900 in 2024. This is slightly higher than the $2,800 in 2023 and $2,600 in 2022.

Fresh graduates saw their median gross salary go up to $2,800, while post-NS graduates also reported an increase to $3,000.
