No one wants a clunky piece of software at work
A positive employee experience entails digital wellness – that is, a healthy attitude and approach to using enterprise technology.
This idea is echoed in the results of a global survey from Citrix and Quartz Insights, in which 90% of workers reported becoming more productive when they had ‘good technology’ in their hands.
Intuitive design is at the heart of great workplace tech, especially when it comes to software, four in five respondents (84%) suggest.

The majority of workers (75%) want enterprise apps and devices that reduce the lag of everyday menial work – and they want to do it with the help of automation. Such tools, they believe, enable them to focus on the more meaningful aspects of their job.
Employees purportedly find meaning when they are allowed to be creative and innovative, leveraging their skills to bring value to the company, explains Donna Kimmel, chief people officer and EVP at Citrix.
“People don’t want to spend their time submitting purchase orders, filing expenses or searching for information,” she said.
Having good workplace tech supposedly translates into having better work/life balance and better overall health.
For most workers (75%), enterprise tools should help them achieve this state of equilibrium between the digital demands and the human aspect of their workday – this is the whole point of digital wellness.
And it’s necessary to crafting a well-engineered EX and to boosting a company’s bottom line.
“A superior EX is essential in fuelling critical business goals,” Kimmel said, “from successfully attracting and retaining talent to boosting customer satisfaction, brand loyalty and ultimately, revenue.”
