But many candidates looking for AI transparency in recruitment: survey
Nearly three in four HR professionals across the world are now using artificial intelligence weekly, citing its benefits for productivity and efficiency.
Findings from HireVue, which polled more than 4,000 HR leaders and employees globally, found that 72% of HR professionals are now using AI weekly.
This is much higher than the 58% in 2024, according to the report, which noted that this demonstrates growing reliance on AI tools for everyday tasks.
The report found that 61% are using ChatGPT, while 43% are using chatbots. The most common use of AI in the HR department is in resume screening (35%) and training (35%). Others said they use it for the following:

Trust in AI tools is also growing among HR leaders, according to the report.
More than half (51%) of the respondents indicated high trust in AI systems in the workplace in 2025, a significant increase from the 37% in 2024. In fact, 53% of HR professionals said they trust AI's hiring recommendations, up from 39% in the previous year.
"This progress aligns with ongoing efforts to educate HR professionals and bridge the trust gap between HR leaders and workers regarding AI in hiring," the report states. "The momentum is clear: AI is not just a tool for HR — it's becoming a trusted partner in reshaping the future of work."
The growing use of AI, however, is causing concerns among job candidates about its role when it comes to hiring decisions, according to the report.
In fact, 79% of the job candidates surveyed in the report said they want transparency about AI's role in the hiring process.
Organisations using AI in hiring are urged to address this concern by remaining transparent to maintain employee confidence and engagement.
"Address candidate concerns by clearly communicating how AI supports your hiring decisions," the report states. "Open, honest conversations build trust and show candidates they're more than just data points."
