New credential verification tool offered to boost Career Health SG

Singapore's Career Health SG initiative now has a secure credential verification platform that seeks to benefit both job applicants and employers.

Called SEEK Pass, it’s the result of a partnership among the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), SkillsFuture Singapore, and Jobstreet by SEEK.

SEEK Pass allows job candidates to draw on their Career & Skills Passport (CSP) so they can showcase to employers their verified credentials, such as skills, employment history, certifications, and educational attainment.

The CSP was jointly rolled out by MOM and SSG in November 2024 and contains skills, employment history, education and certifications records from government sources.

Employers, on the other hand, receive trusted, pre-verified information about job applicants.

"With the surge in job applications in 2024, SEEK Pass addresses the need for efficient hiring processes and empowers candidates to stand out," said Vic Sithasanan, Managing Director, Jobstreet by SEEK in Singapore, in a statement.

SEEK Pass was first introduced in Australia, where 80% of employers said they found it helpful in shortlisting job candidates.

Career Health SG

Career Health SG is a national initiative in support of the SkillsFuture movement. It arose from the Forward Singapore conversations in 2023, as a concept to empower Singaporeans to achieve their career aspirations and develop resilient and fulfilling careers.

"The Ministry of Manpower recognises the value of partnerships with labour market players to advance the Career Health SG initiative," said Kenny Tan, Deputy Secretary (Workforce), Ministry of Manpower, in a statement.

"While the government has a role to play in strengthening the data infrastructure and creating the enabling conditions, we rely on partners like Jobstreet to build upon these to develop new tools and services or enhance existing ones to better meet the needs of workers and employers."

The Ministry of Manpower said Career Health SG will also help businesses widen their access to talent.

"Through Career Health SG, we will equip businesses to take a skills-first approach to hiring and investing in human capital development," it said. "By offering meaningful career progression pathways, businesses will be better positioned to attract and retain talent to drive growth."
