Malaysia's National Human Resources Policy Framework set for May release: reports

Malaysia's National Human Resources Policy Framework is expected to be unveiled this May, as the government continues to pool feedback from stakeholders, according to reports.

Human Resources Minister Steven Sim revealed the information after a town hall session on the framework on Monday, Bernama reported.

The session is one of the engagement events held by the government since January to gather input and feedback from various stakeholders on the framework.

According to Sim, the most recent town hall session raised the issue of women's participation in the labour market, the ageing society agenda, and ways to penetrate new job markets.

"All of these may have gaps in the current policy documents, so we want to address or resolve them through this framework," he said as quoted by Bernama.

Feedback portal for HR framework opened

As part of the government's efforts to pool more input on the framework, it also opened a new portal on Monday where citizens can submit their feedback.

"The portal is open to all citizens to provide feedback on the policy framework being developed. We are conducting engagement sessions and providing feedback mechanisms to everyone," Sim said as quoted by the New Straits Times.

"Therefore, I hope the National Human Resources Policy Framework, which will be announced in May, will receive support and endorsement from all parties."

The portal will close on April 18, with the ministry to compile and review the feedback their received.

"Those deemed suitable will be included in the National Human Resource Policy Framework," Sim said.
