New office also aims to boost employees' mental, physical health
Colliers Singapore has announced that it is moving its employees to a new central office that reflects its sustainability goals and fosters a sense of community and collaboration.
In a statement, Colliers said its Singapore team of about 100-strong selected the new office at Tower 2 in Asia Square in Marina Bay.
"Environmentally, Asia Square proved to be the option that best aligned with Colliers' global commitment to reducing its carbon footprint," it said in the statement.
According to Colliers, its team also customised the office space by implementing sustainable fit-out plans and eco-friendly design elements.
"With high reusability of the existing office fit out, the addition of green features like more plants and energy-saving motion sensors, they ensured each aspect of the office design contributes to a greener work environment," Colliers said.
Asia Square is a 46-storey structure that has been regarded as one of Singapore's most energy-efficient commercial developments. It features Singapore's largest photovoltaic cell solar panel and has the area's first bio-diesel generation plant within a commercial building.
The building has also won awards for its eco-friendly design and operation, such as Building Construction Authority Green Mark Platinum and LEED Core & Shell Platinum certifications.
In addition to its eco-friendly features, Colliers said its new Singapore office puts a premium on culture, community, and collaboration.
It features a conference room fitted with a standing boardroom table to make shorter discussions more active ones, as well as a multi-purpose room for a variety of employee uses.
Other key additions include adjustable sit-stand desks, chairs, and walking pads to promote physical and mental health.
Colliers said it is important for the organisation to ensure that its own offices are in properties where owners are committed to environmental sustainability and tenant health and wellbeing.
"Selecting Asia Square Tower 2 – and further enhancing the space – exemplifies Colliers' goal to build productive environments that reflect sustainability goals and foster a sense of community and collaboration," it said.
