One in 10 employees also don't feel valued, respected at work
Nearly a third of Singaporeans don't believe their workplaces are supportive and are reporting lower mental health scores than their colleagues.
Findings from the TELUS Mental Health Index for January 2024 revealed that 31% of respondents agreed that their workplace is "generally not supportive."
Nearly a quarter (22%) said they are uncertain about it, while less than half (47%) said their workplace is supportive of them.

According to the report, respondents who don't perceive their workplace as supportive have a mental health score of 52, lower than the those who think their workplace is supportive (71.9).
"Workers who perceive their workplace as unsupportive are nearly three times more likely than workers with supportive employers to report that their mental health negatively impacts their work productivity," the report read.
Feeling valued, respected
Meanwhile, the report also found that one in 10 respondents don't feel valued nor respected by their colleagues.
A quarter said they are uncertain, while 65% said they feel valued and supported at work.
"Workers not feeling valued and respected by their colleagues are 60% more likely than workers feeling valued and respected to report their mental health negatively impacts their work productivity," the report read.
Those who don't feel valued and respected also reported the worst mental health score, with 48 points, much lower than those who feel valued and respected that had 67.9 points.
