A new report reveals what HR leaders in Singapore can expect to earn next year
HR directors in Singapore can expect to earn over $300,000 next year, according to a recent report.
It also revealed top HR jobs in demand in 2020: HR business partner, talent acquisition in technology, and talent management/development professionals.
Professionals moving jobs also expect salary increments of 8% to 12% on average.
Some roles, both generalists and specialists, can expect a pay raise in 2020, based on Robert Walters’ annual study.
HR roles due for a pay raise:
- Talent management: $40,000 raise (from a maximum of $200K to $240K)
- C&B director: $40,000 raise (from a maximum of $200K to $240K)
- Senior HR business partner: $20,000 raise (from a maximum of $200K to $220K)
- Recruitment/talent acquisition director: $20,000 raise (from a maximum of $160K to $180K)

Overall, HR leaders can expect their annual salary to remain stable in 2020. The report stated that HR directors will earn about the same in 2019 and 2020 – a range of $220,000 to $300,000 per year.
L&D directors will also earn a similar range next year – between $170,000 to $200,000.
The study revealed other findings about HR talent trends in 2020:
- 73% of HR professionals stay more than two years in a role
- Professionals who move jobs are mainly motivated by better company culture (36%), better compensation & benefits (27%), and career progression (12%)
- Two-thirds of HR who stay in their jobs expect over 6% pay increment
- One-third of HR expect a 7% to 15% pay increment
