Several Canadian companies have once again made the grade - they’re certainly doing something right.
A range of Canadian companies are among Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America for 2015 – several of which have made an appearance in previous years.
The awards honour employers that are committed to making their workplaces more productive through innovative methods of engaging employees. Black Hill Corp, 3M Canada, Goodlife Fitness, KPMG and Shoppers Drug Mart are just a few of the home-grown organizations who’ve graced the list once again.
These are “incredible, employee-focused companies that are changing the way the world works,” said Cheryl Kerrigan, vice-president of employee success at Achievers. “These companies are setting the benchmark for standards in employee engagement by making engaging, aligning and recognizing employees a top priority, which sets them apart from their competition.”
Evaluation
All applicants were assessed based on eight elements of employee engagement - communication, culture, leadership, professional and personal growth, rewards and recognition, accountability and performance, vision and values and corporate social responsibility.
A six-person panel, made up of professionals from across the industry, evaluated the entries, including Kristina Hidas of HRPA, Timothy Canny of SHRM and Rebecca McKenna of HR Executive.

“The submission process was very straightforward and extremely worthwhile,” said Lisa Kimmel of Edelman Canada. “Especially given that we’re now able to showcase our status throughout the year with a variety of stakeholders.”
