[LIGHTER SIDE] PS I love you: Office worker’s secret revealed in farewell email

Instead of the traditional farewell message, one departing IT employee took his final message to his 1,000 colleagues as an opportunity to reveal a deep dark secret

[LIGHTER SIDE] PS I love you: Office worker’s secret revealed in farewell email
Departing IT worker, Gerry Fortuna, had waited almost six years to let his secret out – so on the eve of his departure from his job he finally took the plunge. In a parting email to almost 1,000 of his colleagues, Fortuna announced his love for a girl in the finance department.

In an epic 1400-word email, Fortuna farewelled his colleagues at Australia’s Channel Nine network where he worked as a desk specialist, and confessed his crush for Mia.
“Now I never had the guts to tell anyone at work what I’m about to say, it would be unprofessional, however I’m leaving so it doesn’t matter,” he wrote.

“This may or may not come as a surprise to you as I don’t think you ever knew Mia, but now that I’m leaving it won’t matter ... I think you’re really cute in a beautiful way.

“Now ladies, don’t get your knickers in a knot or jealous I think you’re all beautiful, I’m a single guy and allowed to think these things but I never told any of you until now.
“You could call it a long term crush but it doesn’t matter as I know you all have boyfriends/partners/ husbands and they’re all lucky to have you...”

The email has since been made public and people have taken to Twitter to gush over the gesture and encourage Mia to date Fortuna. Sadly, however, it wasn’t the making of a love match as alas Mia has a boyfriend.

Overwhelmed with the response, Fortuna has taken to Twitter to express his surprise at the interest the email has generated.

'Wow, I have been quite overwhelmed! It has left me with quite a gesture to try and top for the next lady! #stillsinglenosurprise,' he posted.

'Hopefully this sudden attention does not tarnish my reputation or career! Hope Mia is doing okay... What a ride so far! Still in shock...'

'I do not want to come between her and her boyfriend. Let it be a compliment to them both! I wish them well’.

A Nine spokeswoman declined to comment on the email The Daily Telegraph reported.
